One of our wisdom thinks, while the other feels. The one feels is named as emotional intelligence. If our feeling wisdom is in dominance; in other words, if our emotional intelligence is higher, then so will be our awareness as well. It is easier for people with high emotional intelligence to fight with problems like depression, anxiety disorder, etc. And, it is scientifically proven that these people possess a stronger immune system.
Each emotion has a physical effect of its own; thrill makes our heartbeat rate increase and our palms sweat. Similar physical effects occur in case of fear, as well. So to say, each emotion is a motivation causing a physical reaction. In most cases, first reactions we make upon situtations may not represent our true feelings about them. So it is of much importance we correctly analyze our emotions following the first reaction we make to the incidents, regarding this issue. Is my primary emotion anger or fear? But, it is not that easy to face what comes after. These secondary feelings may involve past disappointments or sorrows. For this reason, we should know ourselves better and improve our self-awareness in order to keep our lives under control. Such person with high emotional awareness realizes every single detail in the place she/he enters, able to read between the lines of whatever told to her/him. She/he understands the real meaning -regardless of what is told. Also she/he is brave enough to face her/himself.
Self-awareness can be improved by certain exercises. The easiest one is focusing on our breath. Close your eyes, focus on your breath; how frequent you breath? How you breath? Next one should be your heartbeats. What do they sound like? Fast? Slow?… In case of anger or sorrow, first thing you should do is to ask yourself “What do I really feel?”. Because, you have the correct answer as it is, you just have to be brave enough to face the truth within you.
